Thomas Woodard | Senior Advisor
Tom has enjoyed more than three decades of experience in top management consulting and counseling, working with the senior teams of leading global corporations to improve performance through strategic, organizational, and operational initiatives.
Tom’s 28-year career at McKinsey & Company centered on serving global, technology-based clients, including six years living and working in Europe. He led both the firm’s electronics and telecoms practices and was a pioneer in building its strategy practice. In parallel with his client work, Tom served as McKinsey’s chief information officer from 1993 to 1996 and led its Stamford office from 1996 to 1999.
In eight years at Tapestry Networks, Tom became deeply engaged in corporate governance through his leadership of three networks comprised of directors who: (1) chair the audit committee, (2) chair the compensation committee, and (3) play leading board roles in the largest global banks. These peer-to-peer networks candidly and confidentially addressed key issues of concern to directors. Tom was the principal author of the Group of Thirty’s 2012 report on governance of global banks. In addition to his governance work, Tom co-led networks of general partners from almost all of the major global private equity firms.
Tom has served on numerous non-profit boards, including as chairman of Duke University’s Pratt School Board of Visitors.
